Bridge Construction and Rehabilitation Supervision

Bridges are critical links on African road and rail networks, and both new construction and the rehabilitation of ageing structures require tight supervision. This course covers the methods used to build and repair bridges, from substructure to deck. It focuses on the sequencing, temporary works and inspection that keep spans safe under construction traffic and river flows.

  • Supervise piling, piers, abutments and bearings construction.
  • Control deck construction, formwork and concrete placement.
  • Plan temporary works and river diversions safely.
