Bricklaying, Blockwork and Masonry Construction Supervision

Masonry remains the backbone of building work across the continent, yet cracked walls, poor bonding and out of plumb work are common defects on site. This course equips supervisors to control brickwork, blockwork and masonry quality from setting out to movement joints. It focuses on the workmanship standards, mortar control and inspection routines that keep walls sound and rework low.

What you will be able to do

  • Set out masonry walls accurately from gridlines and datum levels.
  • Control mortar mixes, gauging and consistency for durable joints.
  • Inspect bonding, coursing, plumb and level against tolerances.
  • Manage movement joints, wall ties and reinforcement placement.
  • Diagnose common masonry defects and their root causes.
  • Supervise scaffolding, curing and protection of new masonry.
